**ABOUT THE BRANCH AND SECTION**

The Human Resources (HR) Branch manages a range of functions supporting Finance’s business operations and workforce. The HR Branch provides support on a range of HR matters including recruitment, learning and development, work health and safety, work place rehabilitation and case management support. It is also responsible for the policy development and advice in relation to the employment framework.

The Recruitment and Resource Management section is comprised of three teams, Recruitment and SES Unit, Entry Level Program Recruitment and Entry Level Program Management. Collectively, we are responsible for the recruitment (including bulk and stream recruitment) and on-boarding of all ongoing and non-ongoing Finance APS and SES employees and includes the management of the recruitment processes for the whole of Australian Government, Australian Government Graduate Program - Generalist Stream and Career Starter Programs. Additionally we support and manage the Finance cohort of all our entry level programs, and provide support to our SES.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

As the Assistant Director, Entry Level Program Management, you will be responsible for leading and managing Finance’s Entry Level program cohorts in partnership with the team that administers the whole of Australian Government Graduate Program - Generalist Stream and Career Starter Programs, in collaboration with the Australian Public Service Commission.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Director, Entry Level Program Management includes:

- engaging and on-boarding entry level program participants including supporting relocation requirements, determining initial placements and facilitating face-to-face induction days
- designing and implementing Finance’s development programs for each of the entry level programs including engaging with APS agency partners and external service providers
- managing program rotations and advancement activities, including final placements at the conclusion of programs
- providing ongoing support and advice for participants and their managers regarding aspects of the programs, employment conditions, career development, performance and other HR matters
- developing, revising and implementing policies, procedures and other guidance to support program management and activities
- representing Finance at various external forums such as career fairs and Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE)
- monitoring workload to identify, opportunities and communicate and manage risks.
- setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback and support to maintain a high-performance work environment to ensure outcomes are met and support a culture of two-way feedback by showing openness to people, ideas and normalising constructive feedback.

All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
- This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing. The role will be filled for a non-ongoing period of up to 18 months and may be filled permanently within this period.
