**The Role**
As the APS 6 Logistics Officer in the GWEO P3M Services Logistics Governance Team, the member is key to maintaining GWEO Group's compliance with Defence Logistics Policy.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Maintains strategies and plans for logistics inventory management and performs activities that support GWEO Branches.
- Responsible for developing policies, procedures and processes for logistics inventory management.
- Provides responses to correspondence, briefs and reports on performance of logistics inventory management.
- Provides advice on logistics inventory management activities, policies and legislation.
- Provides leadership and management of three APS staff within the Governance team, and supports the EL 1 Deputy Director Logistics Governance.

GWEO P3M Services is an integral part of Systems Division, which is part of Guided Weapons & Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Group. Our team is made up of various disciplines (including engineering, project management, commercial, logistics, and corporate enabling services). We are located in Canberra, Penrith, Amberley, Melbourne and Stirling, and our focus is to acquire and sustain guided weapons and munitions for the Australian Defence Force.

The GWEO Materiel Logistics Directorate is an enabling service stream within the GWEO P3M Services. The Directorate provides centralised delivery services and functional support to the groups logisticians.
Central services include Materiel Logistics Functional Management, Disposals Support and Governance, Explosive Ordnance Movements Services, and Logistics Governance.
Functionally, the Directorate provides group logistics governance, group representation in the Defence Logistics Enterprise, and advice to delivery programs, and management of GWEO Materiel Logistics best practice, and mentoring and guidance to the GWEO Materiel Logistics network.
The Logistics Governance Team is responsible for providing:
- Logistics Governance over GWEO group as required by Defence Logistics policy, contributing to legislative compliance under the PGPA Act, WHS Act, environmental and International Regulations in function delivery; and
- Leadership and representation for GWEO Logistics in Defence Logistics Council, CASG and GWEO functional forums, and GWEO leadership forums.
