**The Role**
The Aerodromes Maintenance Program Sponsor (AMPS) assists the Chief Aerodromes Engineer in establishing the Aerodrome Maintenance Support Network with internal and external stakeholders to ensure DASR.139 compliance across all certified RAAF Aerodromes.
The AMPS will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to airbase infrastructure specifications and standards. They will liaise with internal and external agencies such as CASA, SEG and Defence Contractors, on Aerodrome maintenance and competency requirements.
They will identify, report and track progress of aerodrome specifications, configuration management and personnel competency requirements for undertaking maintenance activities.
The APS6 Aerodrome Maintenance Program Sponsor may be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

The airbase operations team assists with delivering capabilities critical to our National Defence, by providing certified Defence aerodromes that are well maintained and support safe flight operations across Australia.
We deliver a range of functions to satisfy the Aerodrome Operator Regulations, assuring appropriate maintenance processes are followed by suitably qualified, competent and authorised individuals and/or organisations.
