**The Role**
The Unit Quality Management Coordinator (UQMC) develops, implements and coordinates the local RAAF Base quality management assurance program in accordance with regulation and applicable quality standards.

The UQMC will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to the Unit Audit and Assurance Program. They will interpret and provide advice within the scope of the group quality management system provisions based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will monitor progress towards corrective action requests, conduct investigations and support the conduct of auditing to ensure the Unit conforms to documented quality processes.

The UQMC is also responsible for sponsoring the local process improvement register and reporting local priorities to higher headquarters.

The UQMC may be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to provide advice on issues that affect work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

The airbase operations team assists with delivering Defence capability, by providing certified aerodromes that are well maintained and support safe flight operations on Defence Bases across Australia.
