**The Role**
Surface Force, as a part of the Royal Australian Navy is seeking an Capability Support Officer for the management and delivery of Cross-Class capability in support of the Capability Manager Representative (CMR) for the CN49 Product Schedule. The CMR Support Officer as a part of a small multi-disciplined team, works to perform and achieve complex governance to determine and advise strategic intent whilst responding to the RAN and Defence capability requirements.

The role primarily operates as a liaison between NSSG and Navy to relay intent and to frontline manage highlighted capability risks and issues, sustainment projects, strategies and initiatives to optimise delivery of products to Navy fleet users at both the strategic and operational level. This is achieved through advising priorities and manage workflows, provide feedback and develop solutions with the Maritime Cross-Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO).

The position is also responsible for evaluating business outputs and practices for enhanced rate of effort value for money outcomes. Under the CN49 Product Schedule, MCPSPO manage a large number of cross-class systems; that is items or systems used across two or more classes. Such systems include Navy weapon systems, CIWS and Typhoon; damage control systems including BACU and Firefighting equipment as well as Survivability at sea. CN49 also covers Ship interface assets such as gangways and fenders as well as sea boats and RIHBS. The systems managed by MCPSPO are critical to whole of fleet capability and deliver essential outcomes for the Australian Defence Organisation.
