**The Role**
The SO2 CMR (Capability Manager Representative) Support Officer position in Surface Force provides the incumbent with an opportunity to fill a position that supports the Surface Force Commander and contributes to Australia's maritime security.
The SO2 CMR Support Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex to very complex governance work within an integrated workforce.
It requires an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
In particular, the position is responsible for managing allocated resources, setting priorities and evaluating business outcomes in relation to the delivery of Maritime Cross-Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO) sustainment products and services.
**About our Team**
The Surface Force HQ Governance Team is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of business governance related activities.
These include; Seaworthiness requirements and safety implications, processes to be followed, legislative and Defence requirements and employer/employee responsibilities, and the translating and integration of Fleet policy, guidelines and procedures into cross-platform sustainment processes, thus ensuring consistency with relevant legislation and Defence requirements.
They will have an in-depth knowledge of Defence and Navy mission and policy requirements and be able to exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.
