Under the implementation of the Future Maritime Sustainment Model in New South Wales we have five positions available at the APS 6 level within the newly established Regional Maintenance Centre
- East (RMC?E) team.
The RMC-E, along with the Regional Maintenance Provider - East (RMP-E) contractor, will be part of an integrated Commonwealth and Industry workforce that will plan, manage and deliver maintenance on Navy’s surface fleet based at Garden Island, Sydney.
APS 6 Performance Manager on behalf of RMC-E and the National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG), the APS6 Performance Manager within the Commercial team of the RMC-E will work directly to the EL1 Deputy Director (Contract Manager).
The Performance Manager is a key member of the RMC-E team and will lead the performance monitoring strategy for the delivery of all RMC-E contractual services that contribute to the maintenance of the Royal Australian Navy vessels based at Garden Island.
They will also assist with the RMC-E achieving an effective use of resources to meet NSSG requirements and conform to government policy. The Performance Manager will also assist with the performance of assurance activities for RMC-E contractual obligations.
The Performance Manager will be required to have a high level of stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to analyse and draw accurate conclusions and then recommend improvements or adjustments in priorities for the RMC-E in order to achieve agreed enterprise outcomes.
The Performance Manager will work independently and with discretion to investigate information from diverse sources, exploring innovative approaches to support the broader NSSG objectives and monitor service level agreements to exercise initiative and judgement to achieve results.
**About Our Team**
In response to the Australian Government developing a nationwide naval shipbuilding enterprise the Future Maritime Sustainment Model is being implemented to realise Plan Galileo; National Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group’s national, long term approach to sustainment of the naval fleet.
The Regional Maintenance Centre - East is located in Sydney NSW and will provide capability support to the Royal Australian Navy from the Garden Island Defence Precinct (GIDP), a growing hub of activity that is going to be pivotal to Australia’s sovereign Naval capability well into the future.
The focus of this organisation will be on enhanced collaboration, co-ordination, workforce development and expansion to build the capability and capacity needed to meet increasing ship maintenance demands.
