**The Role**
Your role:
- The Contract Management Officer works closely with a small team responsible for the administration and corporate governance of DOTAM Training Area Range Management deliverables under the Base Services Contract for multiple locations nationally.
- Liaise extensively with ADF, APS and Contractors relating to complex issues to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholder’s needs and expectations overseeing the delivery of key training capability.
- Accountable for providing advice and support for procurement, assurance, risk and contract management activities using GEMS and GIMS.
- Accountable for the achievement of work outcomes, ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission.
- Development and implementation of procedural, operational and complex contract documentation and other documents consistent with business requirements and policies.
- Coordinate administrative and business support activities for the team and DOTAM work areas to ensure Defence outcomes are met.
- Build and sustain productive relationships and actively participate in work and group activities.
**About our Team**
The Directorate of Operations and Training Area Management (DOTAM) is an exciting place to work with broad responsibilities providing opportunities for career progression. DOTAM’s two main functions are management of 40 national military Training Areas and coordination of SEG support to major military exercises and facilitation of Defence domestic operations within Australia including the range of Joint Operations Support Staff services and coordination of Defence Assistance to the Civil Community, Defence Force Aid to the Civil Authority and ceremonial requests.
The Directorate works closely with the Services, providing quality military exercise areas and facilities ensuring Defence can operate safely on modern and sustainable training areas. Development of these areas ultimately ensures forces can enhance Defence capability and readiness, helping protect our nation. DOTAM HQ is in Campbell Park Canberra in an integrated environment. DOTAM consists of approximately 240 personnel; ADF, APS, Reserve and contractors located nationally across four regions.
You will have demonstrated strong procurement and contract management skills and experience and be able to exercise initiative and judgement interpreting and advising on policy, legislation and procedures, and complex corporate, administrative and business support activities to contribute to DOTAM strategic planning, program management and policy development..and lastly, you must hold an NV1 clearance or the ability to gain and able to travel as required.
