The Directorate of Navy Governance has a newly created APS 6 Knowledge Manager position which will manage and mature the Navy Library content on the Defence Secret Network (DSN). The Navy Library (N Library) is the key mechanism by which the Navy achieves its governance outcomes.
The key part of your role will be working with the Navy Library content which supports Navy’s Leadership, Governance and Operational Outcomes. It is the online repository for guides, manuals, policy, doctrine, process and all other supporting documentation required by Navy. You will be instrumental in implementing and refining the operation of the N Library DSN repository.
Some of the key duties of this role are:
- Ensure the delivery and upkeep of the DSN N Library content, including maintaining the configuration, harmonisation and accuracy of content.
- Ensure that the Navy’s knowledge artefacts within the repository are accessible to authorised personnel, configuration controlled and compliant.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
- Exercise both initiative and judgement in the management of the N Library DSN repository.
- Engage with stakeholders to educate and train them on processes, procedures and publication timelines.
- Develop the DSN N Library business rules to integrate configuration control within the existing construct.
- Provide knowledge management expertise to the Staff Officer (SO1) with respect to the future development of the DSN N Library.
- Assist SO1 with the transition of the DSN N Library from a SharePoint platform to an Integrate Business Support System (IBSS) platform in conjunction with the broader transition process.
- Provide briefings to Navy Steering Groups and Committees.
**About our Team**
Working to the Director Navy Governance, you are part of the team that is embedded in a dynamic environment, supporting Navy Outcome 5. You will be part of the Navy Governance team which currently consists of a blended workforce of ADF, APS and Contractors. The team engages with many stakeholders within Navy and Defence to achieve best practice for the implementation and maintenance of Navy’s key governance mechanism.

- Ability to handle highly sensitive information in accordance with government security requirements.
