School Swim Support Officer

Permanent, Part-time/19 hours per week
- Salary - $74k + Super (pro-rata)

**Key Responsibilities & Duties**
Administration
- Ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to at all times to maintain a high level of safety and service delivery.
- Assist with preparation, implementation and review of rosters and timesheets for School Swim Instructors ensuring appropriate staffing levels are maintained in accordance with industry standards, the budget and Centre policies.
- Ensure checklists relating to the delivery of the school swimming and programs are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

Supervision
- Ensure the delivery of the highest standards of instruction, class supervision and safety of RLC school swimming and ensure the classes are conducted in accordance to Life Saving Victoria’s ‘Swim and Survive’ license agreement and the Austswim ‘Teacher of Swimming Guidelines’.
- Assist with employee recruitment, selection, training, development and supervision of swim school employees.

Risk Management and Operations
- Responsible for equipment used in the swim school to ensure it is safe and it does not present as a hazard to participants.
- Understand the Centre’s emergency procedures and assist with emergency evacuation.
- Attend and participate in monthly OHS meetings conducted at the Centre

Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of and ability to develop swimming lessons and recreation classes that suit the needs of the community.
- Knowledge of all relevant safety and emergency procedures
- Knowledge of the ‘Swim and Survive’ program and the ability to develop lesson plans which create fun, effective and well organised classes for various ages and abilities.
- Experience in managing small and large groups in a swim school setting.
- Skilled in time management and ability to plan and organise own work.
