**About the role:
Reporting to the Finance Director - Australian Food Group, the primary responsibilities of this role are to lead the planning cycles (budgeting and forecasting), monitor the delivery and performance against our strategy and understand and communicate current and future performance through Food Group, Corporate, Board and External Reporting.

The role oversees the end to end financials of the Australian Food Group, the largest and most complex part of the Woolworths Group, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Capital Expenditure.

The role also includes responsibility for:

- the Controllership Team who ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data; andThe Agile Finance team who drive specific strategic problem solving across Food Group.

It is a key leadership position within one of Australia's leading retail businesses and will be required to work with all levels of Management across Australian Food, encompassing Supermarkets, WooliesX, FoodCo and Metro, adjacency businesses and across the broader Woolworths Group.

**In this role, you will:
- Build and develop a high performing Finance team aligned to Woolworths values and Ways of Working
- Lead the Food Group Strategic Planning and Annual Operating Plan process end to end, including working alongside Strategy and other functions to ensure alignment of strategy, high level financial aspirations and robust annual operating plans for each business
- Lead the Food Group forecasting process end to end, to deliver a clear picture of the Food Group performance trajectory, risks and opportunities relative to targets
- Play a key role in capital expenditure (annual -S1bn) governance and forecast processes. Lead capital allocation and prioritisation of capital, ensuring alignment with strategy and end-to-end visibility through to benefits tracking
- Lead the preparation of monthly Business Performance, ExCo and Board Reporting, communicating insights on business performance and financial outlook
- Lead preparation of external reporting deliverables, including profit announcement and investor presentations for Australian Food and supporting documentation
- Lead the Food Group Controllership team, accountable for the accuracy and integrity of financial data and monthly close processes
- Lead the Food Agile Finance Team, driving problem solving and visibility on targeted strategic initiatives
- Work alongside and influence stakeholders (financial and non-financial) across all areas of the business to drive an aligned end-to-end approach and continuous improvement, supporting decisions which drive strong shareholder returns
- Maintain ownership of Food scorecard process, including target setting, tracking and monitoring against incentive targets
- Contribute to the development and amendment as required of Woolworths long and short term incentive metrics and targets)
- Lead other Food and Group level initiatives as agreed in the roleBe a key participant and thought leader within the Food Finance Leadership Team and wider Group Finance Senior Leadership team, where you will influence a range of decision makers and contribute to delivery of the broader Finance strategy.

**About you:
- 15 years+ experience, including significant financial analysis, performance reporting. investment appraisal and process management experience
- Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning & Analysis
- Demonstrated experience in Controllership
- Demonstrated experience in Retail
- Prior experience working in large and complex, multi-stakeholder environments, in an environment which required setting an agenda and having other teams execute on that agenda
- Excellent communicator, with demonstrated ability to frame narrative, influence and negotiate with key business partners, including strong attention to detail
- Strong experience in developing, implementing and executing complex process frameworks involving both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Experience in partnering with the senior leadership team on development and delivery of strategic initiativesProven ability in developing
