Reporting to the Managing Director, the People & Culture Manager will lead all people initiatives across the AFSL, supporting both internal teams and our national network of financial advisers.

The role combines strategic HR leadership, adviser recruitment, stakeholder engagement, and culture development — ensuring the AFSL continues to attract, support, and retain high-performing professionals who share our values and standards of excellence.

  • This position requires a minimum of 5-8 years of experience.
  • Essential financial services industry experience is required to effectively support our national network of financial advisers.
  • Experience in financial planning, wealth management, banking, insurance, investment management or any financial services area is essential for this role.
  • Recruitment experience is essential for this role given the strategic HR leadership and adviser recruitment responsibilities.
  • Financial adviser recruitment experience is specifically required to effectively lead adviser recruitment initiatives.

Australian work rights are required for this position.

  1. Develop and deliver the People & Culture strategy aligned with the AFSL's business and governance objectives.
  2. Drive adviser engagement programs and ensure a positive, compliant, and collaborative adviser experience.
  3. Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of high-quality financial advisers and staff.
  4. Partner with the Compliance and Professional Standards teams to integrate adviser education, CPD, and conduct frameworks.
  5. Manage key relationships with fund managers, insurance providers, and industry bodies.
  6. Promote a strong performance and feedback culture, including development planning and recognition.
  7. Support leadership development, succession planning, and diversity initiatives.
  8. Act as a trusted partner to the Managing Director on organisational culture, workforce planning, and communication strategy.
