About the RoleThis position reports to the iAgeHealth Manager and requires collaboration with our multidisciplinary team to provide culturally sensitive care, health education, and advocacy to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
Essential Skills and Qualifications- Certificate III or higher in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner or eligible to obtain.
- Effective communication methods within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Context.
- Demonstrated cultural knowledge and exercise cultural respect and safety at the individual and families' levels.
- Ability to write clear and precise English appropriate to residents' needs.
- Mature outlook with the ability to relate and converse with older people.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work both in a team and autonomously.
- Strong organisational and time management skills including the ability to establish priorities and plan work.
- Experience in an aged care setting.
- Understanding of Aged Care and associated Legislation.
- Understanding of AN-ACC Care Minute requirements.
- Experience in supervising and leading staff.
- Basic Life Support accreditation.
