The Department of Education is a leading provider of public education in Australia, responsible for delivering high-quality educational services to two-thirds of the NSW student population.

As a Senior Change Advisor within the Operations Portfolio Management Office (OPMO), you will play a critical role in shaping the organisation's change journey and driving service excellence across schools.

About the Role

This newly created position offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on the organisation's change initiatives. As a Transformational Change Leader, you will empower change programs through dynamic workstreams, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure seamless implementation and deliver outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft meticulous change plans and proactively mitigate risks to ensure successful delivery of change programs.
  • Drive adoption of change and foster high engagement in service delivery.
  • Simplify processes and improve service levels.
  • Coordinate and communicate with various teams and departments to ensure alignment and minimize disruptions during change implementation.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's policies and procedures to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in change management activities, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and consultation, within a large, complex organization-wide environment.
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships to support effective change, including influencing internal and external key stakeholders relating to complex and sensitive matters.

  • Experience in developing and implementing successful change initiatives.
  • Ability to balance stakeholder needs in a complex change program across multiple groups and locations.
  • Expertise in navigating change resistance and overcoming challenges for seamless implementation.
  • Ability to provide expert advice on emerging change issues.
  • Effectiveness in managing and leveraging communication channels to facilitate change implementation and engagement.
