Student Support Specialist

As a Student Support Specialist - Mental Health, you will be responsible for providing support and welfare services to our students. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.
The salary for this role is estimated to be around $73,730 per year, based on a part-time position. You will work closely with our Student Life team to provide a range of support services, including counselling, intervention, and referral.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant degree in Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, Counselling, or equivalent. Eligibility for membership with relevant professional associations is desirable but not essential.
You will require significant experience in working with vulnerable student groups, providing individual support and liaison on their behalf. You must be able to maintain confidentiality and consult with senior staff as required.
We are looking for someone who can confidently and courteously deal with people at all levels and from diverse backgrounds. You will need to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to prioritise tasks and manage student records.
The ideal candidate will have high-level problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate potential problems and pre-empt actions. They will also be able to liaise with stakeholders to analyse issues and propose workable solutions.
