About the Opportunity:

A highly rewarding part-time opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as a Teacher in Nursing (Advanced Diploma of Nursing) within our Faculty of Health, Community and Life Sciences.

Within this role, you will be providing high-quality course materials and teaching delivery to domestic and international students. You will be delivering planned lessons using various methods, including Moodle, to engage students and meet their learning styles and needs.

You will have the rewarding opportunity to guide students through their Advanced Diploma of Nursing, supporting their success and improving their employment/education pathways.

The Faculty of Health, Community and Life Sciences delivers nationally recognised training to over 1200 students in courses ranging from Certificates to Diplomas and post-graduate programs. Disciplinary areas include nursing, health and community services, animal care and management, biosecurity, horticulture, conservation and land management.

Note: This position is part-time (FTE) and is fixed term until December 2024. Salary is in line with MEA dependent on qualifications.

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) (essential)
  • Minimum qualification should be a Bachelor of Nursing and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (essential)
  • Working in an acute setting specialising in ICU/ED or theatre as a Registered Nurse or higher
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging and relevant course materials and lessons
  • Experience understanding adult learning principles and ability to utilise learning management systems
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership within the classroom; motivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomes, manage difficult and sensitive topics and questions and identify potential and existing issues and setbacks; working to resolve any issues
  • Passionate about knowledge sharing and ability to work within a team, contributing to the positive work environment and culture
  • Proven ability to be readily adaptable to changing circumstances within the classroom
  • Highly supportive and compassionate with a commitment to continuous improvement and high-level communication
