About the Role

The Executive Director of Research Translation will be responsible for leading RMIT University's research partnering and translation efforts, driving strategic growth and innovation in partnership with industry, government, and not-for-profit organizations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build on RMIT's existing momentum and progress its research partnering activity. The successful candidate will have demonstrable excellence in research partnering and translation leadership, strong management and strategic planning experience, advanced negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders across RMIT Schools, Colleges, and Portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pursue a diverse range of research translation pathways, including IP management and commercialisation, and new venture creation.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans in research partnerships, translation, IP management, and commercialisation to foster growth.
  • Lead the development of research strategy relating to partnerships development, translation, including IP management commercialisation, and new venture creation that leads to increased funding opportunities.
  • Design and develop large-scale initiatives involving multiple internal and external partners to deliver profound impact for the benefit of the world beyond academia.
