About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Change and Capability Manager to lead change on a range of critical programs of work that will deliver significant value for our Avant business and our members.

This role will see you operate as a member of Avant's Change and Capability team, supporting the successful delivery of Avant's change portfolio.

You will apply your deep knowledge and experience in people, technology and business improvement projects to manage the impact of change across our business.

You will partner with Avant's business leaders to ensure their teams are ready and able to adopt new ways of working and realise expected business benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the management of change on Avant's prioritised programs of work by:

  • Working collaboratively with Avant's project teams, identifying key changes and new ways of working for all Business Units and functions.
  • Partnering with Sponsors and Business Leaders to assess impacts and develop fit for purpose plans to manage those impacts.
  • Partnering with internal communications to coach and support leaders to communicate a compelling case for change and build awareness of changes that are coming.
  • Partnering with internal resources and vendors to plan knowledge and training interventions that ensure sufficient knowledge and skills uplift occurs for all impacted audiences.
  • Assessing and reporting readiness in a structured, consistent and transparent way, enabling leaders to take ownership of the readiness of their teams to adopt new ways of operating.
  • Identifying, escalating and mitigating change risks and issues.
  • Defining and establishing appropriate support mechanisms for all impacted teams and monitoring embedding and adoption of new ways of working.

Enhance change capability across Avant by:

  • Contributing to the development, application and sharing of change management knowledge, frameworks and tools.
  • Participating in and contributing to the change management community.
  • Being an advocate and champion for the effective management of change.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in change management or organisational change.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a change lead role while partnering with project delivery teams to achieve outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with and influence a range of stakeholders including C-suite executives, General Managers and Heads of.
  • Previous experience working on technology and business projects with multiple releases and impacting multiple teams.
  • Previous experience engaging with operational teams such as Claims, Member Services and Sales as well as shared service functions such as Finance, Marketing, People and Culture and Risk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with persistence and resilience in the face of challenges.
  • A structured approach to the management of change with a clear focus on the delivery of business benefits and uplifting change capability.
