About the Role

Macquarie's ANZ Compliance team plays a critical role in maintaining a comprehensive Compliance Framework, enabling our businesses to meet regulatory and compliance obligations.

As the Head of Compliance, you will be responsible for strengthening our relationship with ANZ regulators, primarily ASIC, by acting as the main point of coordination for our engagement.

You will also partner with internal stakeholders to embed an effective control environment, aligned with regulatory standards, policies, and expectations.

This role involves being a member of the Global Compliance Leadership team, ensuring expert advice and guidance on compliance matters in ANZ are delivered through the regional compliance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a proven track record in managing and mentoring large and diverse teams.
  • Bring a high level of capability in both strategic and operational team management.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships with senior management across all groups, including Group Heads.
  • Embed and strengthen talent while maintaining effective engagement across the firm.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable and strong track record of engagement with ASIC, including deep experience and knowledge of key ASIC supervisory approaches.
  • Extensive experience and expert market knowledge in financial markets and consumer credit activity, gained from equivalent roles in investment banks.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Australian regulatory environment and financial services regulation.
  • Proven ability to guide and challenge senior stakeholders on regulatory interpretation.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks, including global alignment with local regulatory requirements.
