The role of Regional Head of Compliance is critical in strengthening Macquarie's relationship with regulators across all its business and support groups. As the main point of coordination for engagement with ANZ-based regulators, primarily ASIC, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, policies, and expectations.

This includes partnering with internal stakeholders to embed an effective control environment, providing expert advice and guidance on compliance matters, and being a member of the Global Compliance Leadership team. You must demonstrate strong leadership skills, have a proven track record in managing and mentoring large and diverse teams, and bring a high level of capability in both strategic and operational aspects of team management.

This role requires a high-calibre and experienced compliance professional who can embed and strengthen talent while maintaining effective engagement across the firm. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating a strong track record of engagement with and acting as a point of contact for ASIC, including deep experience and knowledge of key aspects of ASIC's supervisory approach.
  • Extensive experience and expert market knowledge in financial markets and consumer credit activity, gained from equivalent roles in investment banks.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Australian regulatory environment and financial services regulation, with applicability to Macquarie's business and support groups.
  • Proven ability to guide and challenge senior stakeholders across diverse business and support groups on the interpretation of regulation.
