
Promoting Perinatal Mental Health

The Emotional Wellbeing Promoter plays a pivotal role in enhancing emotional wellbeing among expectant and new parents, their healthcare providers and the wider community. This position is responsible for forging sustainable relationships with key stakeholders to foster advocacy and awareness of perinatal mental health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive education, training and health promotion activities to professionals, corporate partners and the community to promote perinatal mental health.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop culturally responsive perinatal mental health programs, training resources and collateral.
- Support service presence at conferences and events through professional contributions to presentations, papers and speaking opportunities.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to internal and external stakeholders on perinatal mental health matters.
- Drive expansion and engagement activities to increase geographical reach and influence.
- Partner with local communities to build capacity among existing service providers.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders nationally to identify and address gaps in service provision.
- Provide leadership and support to build confidence and capacity in delivering inclusive programs.
- Contribute to service planning and integration which supports inclusive practice.
- Coordinate delivery and reporting of community engagement and education activities.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in health promotion or education roles.
- Tertiary qualifications in nursing, education or allied health fields.
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in community health or not-for-profit sectors.
