The Perinatal Mental Health Specialist is a key role in providing specialist mental health support to women with moderate to severe mental health concerns during pregnancy and the first year of their baby's life.
This position offers an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women, infants, and families during a critical period of mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:- Clinical Care: Providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions for women from their second trimester until their baby reaches 12 months.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Working autonomously while contributing to a cohesive, multidisciplinary team.
- Service Improvement: Driving best practices in perinatal mental health through education, consultation, and quality improvement initiatives.
The successful applicant will promote a service that fosters clinical excellence, research, and professional leadership. They will contribute to quality healthcare by collaborating with healthcare providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards, and evaluating their outcomes.
Requirements:A registered nurse with authority to practice and extensive experience in the specialty field is required. The successful applicant will have provided expert clinical advice and leadership within a defined specialty and contributed to care plan development for patients with complex health needs.
They will also have experience in contributing to strategic and operational planning within a clinical service and supporting specialty-related education programs and research integration into practice to improve outcomes.
