Position Overview

We are excited to announce an opening for a dedicated Head Pastry Chef to become a vital part of our creative team at Merivale. The ideal candidate will possess a flair for innovation, lead a small team of pastry chefs, and collaborate closely with both the head chef and executive chef.

The dessert offerings at Merivale are designed to surprise and delight, featuring imaginative creations infused with Asian influences. Anticipate dishes such as black sesame and peanut flan, yuzu almond baba accompanied by sake cream, and musk cheesecake with raspberry.

Candidate Profile

The successful applicant will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a head pastry chef role or equivalent.
  • A background in prestigious establishments, including upscale restaurants, hotels, or patisseries.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various pastry techniques with a commitment to excellence.
  • Experience in managing a small team while fostering creativity.
  • Strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to deliver high-quality results.
  • A solid grasp of workplace health and safety regulations and allergen management.
