About the Role

The Hyatt Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join their Pastry team at Park Hyatt Sydney. As a key member of the culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the Pastry section and contributing to the hotel's culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pastry team in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastry products for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services.
  • Develop and implement new pastry recipes and menus to enhance the hotel's culinary offerings.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the Pastry section.
  • Collaborate with the Pastry Chef to plan and execute special events and banquets.
  • Train and develop the skills of junior team members to ensure the highest level of service and quality.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Pastry Chef Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Chef de Partie - Pastry or Demi Chef - Pastry in a hotel or restaurant with good standards.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is highly desirable.
  • Excellent baking skills and knowledge of various cooking methods.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
