Key Responsibilities
  • Pastry Production: Ensure the production of high-quality pastries, cakes, and other baked goods for our hotel's breakfast buffet and lobby café.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of quality and presentation in all pastry products.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of pastry cooks to achieve high-quality results and meet deadlines.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels and ordering of ingredients and supplies to ensure efficient production and minimize waste.
  • Food Safety: Ensure that all food safety standards and HACCP guidelines are met at all times.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and proper functioning of all pastry equipment and utensils.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with other departments, including the kitchen, front of house, and management, to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Commercial Cookery qualification and 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Availability: Ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
