Drilling Operations Assistant

Mitchell Services is a leading provider of drilling services to the global exploration, mining and energy industries with over 50 years of experience.

As a Driller Offsider, you will be working collaboratively alongside experienced Drillers to maintain safe drilling operations on a 14 days on and 7 days off roster. This role is FIFO from Brisbane Airport, Perth Airport or Darwin Airport or DIDO within an acceptable distance.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Minimizing breakage and down hole loss
  • Reporting all incidents immediately
  • Performing thorough prestart checks
  • Discussing and recording hazards, near misses and improvements
  • Ensuring accuracy in sample markup and orientation

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A current Open Car Licence
  • The ability to obtain a First Aid/CPR certificate
  • An ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience as an Underground Driller Offsider (desirable)
  • The ability to work 12-hour days and operate in small teams
  • A high level of physical fitness and ability to pass a functional assessment

We offer competitive day rate wages and bonuses, uniforms, PPE, work boots and fully reimbursed prescription safety glasses. You will also have access to fully funded drilling certificates, on the job training and online training packages. Additionally, we provide fully funded accommodation and food whilst at site.

Earn an estimated $75,000 - $90,000 per annum based on your experience and qualifications.
