Operational Risk Manager for Superannuation Services

AustralianSuper is a leading superannuation fund committed to providing excellent services to its members. We are currently seeking an experienced Service Controls Lead to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for owning and maintaining a standardised approach to operational risk management. This includes ensuring functional teams have the necessary tools, frameworks, processes, and guidance to deliver superannuation and insurance products and services safely and effectively.

You will work closely with internal business units and external service providers to identify and address issues impacting members. Your task will be to coordinate the collation of data and other information into proposals that will mature the Fund's approach to Operational Risk Management, change oversight at third parties, and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of five years' experience within superannuation
  • Solid knowledge of superannuation legislation obligations
  • Contractual acumen across material service providers
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and accountabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-developed initiative and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work diligently, efficiently, and with accuracy, paying close attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • An ability to work autonomously and proactively, setting your own work plan to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to foster cooperation and teamwork in a close team environment
  • Ability to develop strong stakeholder relationships with a range of staff and service providers
  • An ability to research matters of a technical nature and interpret technical documents to prepare and summarise reports

AustralianSuper offers a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also have access to generous leave entitlements, ongoing learning and coaching opportunities, and career advancement possibilities within our expanding global organisation.
