About the Role

The Spiritual Formation Team invites applications for the position of Education Officer - Staff Spiritual Formation. This role exists to support and provide service to staff in schools and the Catholic Education Office in the area of adult Spiritual Formation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate spiritual formation programs and retreats.
  • Meet with personnel in schools and the Catholic Education Office to discern and plan for ongoing spiritual formation of staff.
  • Provide ongoing support to schools and the Catholic Education Office Service Areas with resources to use in prayer and spiritual formation.
Requirements
  • A deep understanding of and a commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
  • A deep personal commitment to the practice of their faith and their own spiritual formation.
  • A sound understanding of Adult Spiritual Formation and its implementation in the education sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership at a parish, school, and/or system level.
  • Capacity to support school-based Spiritual Formation.
  • Ability to design spiritual formation experiences for staff.
  • An understanding of and engagement with Lighting the Way (Strategic Plan) for Catholic Education in the Diocese of Wollongong and Bearers of Christ Love (Bishop Brian Mascord's charter for Catholic Schools).
Desirable Selection Criteria
  • Experience in facilitation of adult spiritual formation opportunities.
General Capabilities
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning, formation, and growth.
Qualifications

Accreditation for Senior Leadership in a Catholic School (Category E) in accordance with the 'Accreditation to Work, Teach, and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong' policy (or a commitment to acquiring within a 5-year period).

Working with Children Clearance

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
