Education Officer – Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing – Diverse Learning Specialist

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Education Officer to join their team. This role will be responsible for supporting students with diverse learning needs across the diocesan system of schools.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with families, external agencies, and stakeholders to provide individual case management and support for students with diverse learning needs.
- Develop and implement Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L) in schools and provide support for enrolment and transition of students with diverse needs.
- Work closely with the Wellbeing and Student Support team to develop and deliver ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff.
- A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with the capacity to inspire staff and bring about change.
- Demonstrated commitment to work in alignment with the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework and engage with an inquiry mindset.
- Capacity to work effectively as part of a dynamic, responsive team and provide high-quality support for schools.
- Experience in supporting students with diverse learning, wellbeing, mental health, behavioural, and safety issues.
- Evidence of formal study in special education and/or social and emotional and/or behavioural support for students.
- Experience as a middle leader or above in a school or educational services setting.
- Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in dealing with complex learning needs of students.
- Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW.
- Minimum 10 years teaching experience.
- Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy.
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check is required prior to employment at CEDoW.
