About the Role

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong invites applications for an Education Officer, Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing, to join its team. As an integral part of the Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing service area, you will support students with diverse learning needs, social, emotional, behavioural, and wellbeing needs across the diocesan system of schools.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with families, external agencies, and stakeholders to support individual case management and implement Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L)
• Provide support for schools in the enrolment and transition of students with diverse needs into CEDoW schools and other educational settings
• Work closely with the Wellbeing and Student Support team and ILW service area to develop, deliver, monitor, and evaluate ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff and others

Selection Criteria

• A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader evangelising mission of the Catholic Church
• Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with the capacity to inspire staff, build teacher collective efficacy, and bring about change
• Demonstrated commitment to work in alignment with the Continuous Catholic School Improvement Framework and engage with an inquiry mindset
• Capacity to work effectively as part of a dynamic, responsive team
• Experience within an educational setting with an understanding of effectively supporting students with diverse learning, wellbeing, mental health, behavioural, and safety issues

Qualifications and Experience

• Accredited with NESA to teach in NSW
• Minimum 10 years teaching experience
• Accredited to Level C in accordance with the To Work, Teach and Lead Policy, or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment within CEDoW

Working with Children Check

This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to employment at CEDoW.
