Learning and Wellbeing Specialist

The Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong seeks a highly skilled and experienced Education Officer to join its team in the role of Improvement, Learning and Wellbeing. This position is a key part of the Diocese's commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Support students with diverse learning needs, including those with social, emotional, behavioural, and wellbeing challenges.
- Collaborate with families, external agencies, and key stakeholders to develop and implement individual plans for students.
- Work closely with the Wellbeing and Student Support team to provide high-quality support and services to students and schools.
- Develop and deliver professional learning formation and growth experiences for school staff.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to student wellbeing and support.
- A deep understanding of the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong's mission and values.
- Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Experience working in an educational setting, particularly in the support of students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to interpret medical documentation and student eligibility for Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
- Experience in developing and implementing individual plans for students.
- Evidence of formal study in special education and/or social and emotional support for students.
- Experience as a middle leader or above in a school or educational services setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of complex learning needs and student wellbeing.
- Experience in the implementation and maintenance of Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L) in a school setting.
