City Of Banyule, Australia Montessori Academy Group Full time

The Montessori Academy Group is seeking to appoint two independent directors to its Board, with the primary objective of championing the purpose, vision, values, and strategic priorities of the school.

As a board member, you will bring your skills to help guide the organisation to grow, make the most of exciting new opportunities, proactively manage risk, and maintain long-term financial sustainability. You will provide strategic guidance and effective governance for the School, effectively overseeing the appointment and annual review of the School Principal.

Negotiable salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the principles of corporate governance, including sufficient financial literacy
  • Commitment to the purpose and values of the Montessori Academy Group
  • Ability to think strategically and review reports, monitor performance, identify risks and implement strategies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Competencies, Skills & Requirements:

  • Law, Finance, Marketing, Governance training or experience highly regarded
  • A National Police Certificate and Working with Children Check mandatory for all Board members

Board Meeting Schedule & Attendance Expectations:

  • 10 Board meetings of approximately 2 hours in length per annum
  • Meetings held alternately at the School and online
  • Independent Directors expected to sit on at least one Sub-Committee or Working Group
