The Role

The Waterfront Supervisor will be responsible for driving performance in Planned Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM) across Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) periods and Service Visits (SV) periods, while maintaining vessels within Class Condition.

The role will be performed in accordance with Local and State Legislation and Austal policies and procedures.

Key Objectives & Responsibilities
  1. Work List Preparation, Planning, and Execution
  2. Quality Control of Work Scope
  3. Safe Delivery of Work Scope
  4. Review of Objective Quality Evidence to Ensure Task Completion and Compliance
  5. Support the Safe, On-Time, and On-Budget Delivery of Contracted Work Scope
  6. Support Applicable Business Managers with the Management of Resources and Contractors as Assigned
  7. Planning of Project and Maintenance Task Activities
  8. Schedule Adherence and Reporting
  9. Financial Monitoring and Reporting
  10. Communication of Expectations to All Concerned Parties
  11. Working with Program/Project Teams to Ensure Expectations are Clearly Communicated
  12. The Inspection and Approval of Any Works as Necessary
  13. Apply Quality Procedures and Practices Which Ensure That All Works Are Carried Out to the Applicable ISO Standard and/or in Accordance with the 'Specification' of the Program/Project
  14. Adhere to Any Environmental and Safety Requirements
  15. Perform Duties and Take Responsibilities as Assigned by Line Manager
Required Skills & Experience
  1. Relevant Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance, or Trade Qualification
  2. Hold a Construction Safety Induction (White Card)
  3. Project Supervision Experience within the Marine or Maintenance Industry
  4. A Strong Working Knowledge and Understanding of Safety Management Practices Including Working in Confined Spaces, Working at Heights, Working with Energised Systems, Isolations, Risk Assessments, Permits, and Job Safety and Environment Analysis
  5. Project Planning and Scheduling, Trade, and Service Time Management & De-Confliction
  6. Internal/External Dispute Resolution and Negotiations
  7. Proven Ability to Lead, Build, Manage, and Foster a Team-Oriented Environment
  8. Experienced in Defence Statutory Compliance
  9. Excellent Communication (Written and Oral) and Interpersonal Skills
  10. High Level of Analytical and Reporting Skills
  11. Ability to Plan, Organise, and Work Effectively in a High-Tempo Team Environment
Desirable Skills & Experience
  1. Quoting/Estimating Experience
  2. Project Planning Experience
  3. Use of CMMS
  4. Diploma or Higher in Project Management, Quality Management, and/or Leadership & Management
