About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to join our team at Shangri-La Cairns. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our IT Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • IT Infrastructure Management: Install, maintain, and upgrade applications software, hardware, and systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Network Administration: Diagnose and repair LAN hardware devices, maintain bridges, gateways, modems, and routers, and monitor network performance.
  • Data Backup and Security: Perform daily backups of all data and ensure the safety, security, and integrity of all hardware, software, and data.
  • System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor system software and utilities, and advise the Financial Controller of any issues arising.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Prepare and maintain disaster recovery contingency plans to minimize disruption in the event of an emergency.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop a strategic plan for the Information Systems Department and systems for the next 5 years.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an IT Manager role.
  • Education: Degree qualified in Information Systems.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, experience with hotel computer systems, and understanding of workplace practices in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Availability: Must be available for after-hours paging 24/7 for IS-related problems.
