Job Title: Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel to join our team at MBC Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in providing legal services and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough legal research and provide expert advice on compliance matters and transactional issues.
  • Support and guide internal stakeholders through approaches to market, particularly direct negotiations, as required.
  • Review and analyze standards, proposed supplier contracts, and requested amendments to ensure legal and commercial risk management.
  • Identify and manage issues arising from non-compliance, providing practical guidance to staff.
  • Investigate complex legal issues and provide expert guidance on areas such as procurement, consumer law, and environmental protection.
Requirements:
  • Admitted as a lawyer in the state of New South Wales with a current practising certificate.
  • At least two years of experience in legal practice in a transactional or legal compliance role.
  • Ability to anticipate and manage problems in ambiguous situations, develop solutions, and justify conclusions.
  • Effective negotiation skills, identifying and pursuing the client's real interests while allocating legal and commercial risk.
  • Ability to work within short timeframes without compromising accuracy and sound judgment.
