Clinical Support Specialist for Perinatal Mental Health

Mental health specialists provide high-intensity support to families experiencing severe mental health issues in the perinatal period.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver direct patient care and consultation for complex perinatal mental health disorders through short-term, specialist interventions.
- Focus on developing a strong parent-infant relationship and supporting infant development in collaboration with parents.
- Work within an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent service outcomes, contribute to program development, and facilitate education tools and quality improvement initiatives.
- A social worker or occupational therapist with current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or a psychologist with a four-year degree and full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and at least 8 years' post-registration experience.
- Extensive clinical experience in mental health, specifically working with infants whose parents face severe and complex psychosocial problems during the perinatal period.
- Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills, enabling effective interaction with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, applying advanced reasoning and independent professional judgment in complex situations.
