
Employment Relations Expert

As a high-level Employment Relations Consultant, you will provide strategic advice and support to university management and People and Capability staff on employment-related matters. Your role will be instrumental in developing and implementing ER strategies, fostering an environment that promotes employee engagement and drives business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish strong relationships with senior leaders, HR teams, and stakeholders, providing expert guidance and proactive advice on employment laws and regulations.
- Design, develop, and manage ER frameworks, policies, and enterprise bargaining activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Manage complex ER matters, collaborating with HR teams to investigate cases, resolve disputes, and represent the organization in industrial tribunals.
- Develop and deliver engaging training programs and information sessions to educate leaders on best employment practices, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Expertise in employment relations, coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Highly developed conflict resolution skills, ability to analyze complex situations, and provide strategic advice.
- Extensive experience in managing union relationships, negotiations, and enterprise bargaining activities, as well as representing the employer in industrial tribunals.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
