Employment Relations Consultant Role

The university seeks a skilled Employment Relations Consultant to provide high-level support and advice on employment relations matters. This role involves contributing to the development and implementation of employment relations strategies, fostering an environment that enhances employee engagement and supports the university's strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with leaders, staff, and stakeholders based on credibility and open communication to provide accurate and proactive advice.
  • Develop, update, and implement employment relations frameworks, policies, and enterprise bargaining activities to align with the university's strategic objectives.
  • Manage complex employment relations matters, partner with P&C teams on case management, investigations, disciplinary actions, and represent the university in industrial tribunals.

This position requires a professional who can effectively communicate and negotiate with various stakeholders, including employees, managers, and union representatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of employment relations laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, relationship management, and conflict resolution skills to navigate complex stakeholder interactions.
  • Extensive experience in providing strategic and tactical advice on industrial instruments and employment regulations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

  • Total remuneration package valued at AU$160,095 - AU$170,833 per annum, including salary component AU$135,360 - AU$144,538 (pro rata) per annum, employer contributions to superannuation, and annual leave loading.
