About the Role

At Singtel, we're shaping the future of technology and connectivity. As an Associate Director, Energy Management, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our energy management strategy, ensuring efficient use of energy across our portfolio and assets.

This position reports to the Director Infrastructure Services, overseeing the development and implementation of the Optus Energy Management System (EnMS). You will be responsible for setting achievable targets for energy use and designing action plans to achieve these goals, with ongoing measurement and reporting of progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic approaches to energy efficiency that enhance our return on investment and reduce ongoing costs.
  • Collaborate with the Sustainability team to develop renewables strategies and reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
  • Design water consumption reduction strategies and implement data management systems for energy, water, refrigerant, gas, and diesel.
  • Manage outsourced utility management partners and oversee energy cost modelling and forecasting.
  • Identify and track energy-saving opportunities and report against these targets.
  • Raise awareness about rising energy prices and inefficient energy use, identifying business risks associated with these issues.
Requirements:
  • A degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Certified Energy Manager certification.
  • Strong knowledge of the energy sector in Australia and understanding of how it needs to transition.
  • Technical understanding of various equipment and processes used in electricity generation, as well as key issues affecting each technology.
  • Relevant experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or related fields.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
