Job Description:

The Business Intake Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the firm's processes for assessing, accepting and onboarding new clients and matters. This includes ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing laws in Australia and Papua New Guinea.

This position involves developing and implementing business intake systems, policies and procedures to guarantee adherence to AML/CTF laws and best practice. Close collaboration with senior management is essential to maintain a robust AML/CTF program aligned with industry standards.

Key responsibilities include developing detailed knowledge of AML/CTF laws and guidance provided by relevant regulators. The Business Intake Manager must also implement recommendations following audits of AML/CTF compliance and support the AML/CTF Compliance Officer in fulfilling statutory and regulatory obligations.

In addition, this role entails supervising the day-to-day work of the Business Intake Team and acting as the first point of escalation. Assisting with upskilling, training and technical development of the Business Intake Team is also crucial.

Oversight of workflow management of the Business Intake Team is an important aspect of this position. Effective leadership and team management skills are necessary to ensure seamless operation of the team.

Requirements:
  • Prior experience in managing and implementing AML/CTF compliance programs, preferably in an international law firm.
  • Experience of AML/CTF, KYC/CDD processes and systems such as Intapp.
  • Detailed knowledge of AML/CTF requirements and risks in the legal services industry.
  • A bachelor degree or higher qualification preferred; AML/Compliance qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and productivity tools.
  • Minimum of three years leadership or team management experience strongly preferred.
