Job Title: Client Onboarding Manager
The role of the Client Onboarding Manager is to oversee and manage the firm's processes for assessing, accepting and onboarding new clients and matters. This includes ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing laws in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Key areas of responsibility include:
- Contributing to the implementation of business intake policies, systems and procedures aligned with industry best practices.
- Supervising the day-to-day work of the client onboarding team.
- Assisting with the timely roll-out and ongoing implementation of anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing programs.
- Supporting client due diligence and onboarding processes.
The Client Onboarding Manager will work closely with senior management to maintain a robust and appropriate anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing program. The role requires a proven detailed knowledge of anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing laws and guidance provided by relevant regulators.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing recommendations following audits of anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing compliance.
- Supporting the anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing compliance officer in fulfilling their statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Overseeing workflow management of the client onboarding team.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the management and implementation of anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing compliance programs, preferably in an international law firm. They should also have a strong understanding of AML/CTF requirements and risks associated with the range of services in the legal industry.
