About The Role

We are seeking a strategic HR professional to join our team as the People & Change Lead. This key leadership role reports directly to the Manager People and Change and is responsible for overseeing various strategic and operational components of the People & Change portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the development and implementation of HR strategies and initiatives to drive business outcomes and improve employee engagement.
  2. Provide expert advice and guidance on employment legislation, case management, and organizational change to ensure compliance and minimize risk.
  3. Lead and manage a team of HR professionals to deliver high-quality HR services and support business objectives.
  4. Develop and implement business process improvements across core HR functions and lead people-centric HR services to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize HR initiatives and projects, and develop project plans and timelines to achieve business objectives.
  6. Provide coaching and development opportunities to HR team members to enhance their skills and knowledge and support their career growth.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in HR and organizational development to ensure the City of Greater Dandenong remains a leader in HR excellence.
Requirements
  1. Proven experience in HR leadership and management, with a strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  2. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence business outcomes.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive business decisions.
  4. A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or a related field, with substantial relevant experience in the field.
  5. A proven track record of delivering business outcomes and improving employee engagement through HR initiatives and projects.
