Role Overview

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Officer is to collaborate with the Operations Manager(s) to ensure the upkeep of the centres, fostering a secure environment for retailers, patrons, and the public while maintaining exemplary stakeholder relations.

Key Responsibilities

The Maintenance Officer will execute tasks as requested through the centre's maintenance system, adhering to Vicinity policies and legal standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Conducting repairs and maintenance on both internal and external structures, parking areas, signage, roadways, and gates.
  2. Overseeing the maintenance and servicing of retailer facilities within the centre, including staff restrooms and loading docks.
  3. Ensuring the upkeep and presentation of centre malls and public amenities.
  4. Maintaining internal and external lighting throughout the centre.
  5. Assisting with minor capital expenditure projects for the centre.

For larger projects, the Maintenance Officer will coordinate with qualified contractors to ensure maintenance and repairs are conducted effectively.

  2. Guarantee the safety of customers and retailers.
  3. Ensure high-quality work is completed efficiently and within timeframes.
  4. Maintain maintenance costs within budgetary constraints.
  5. Contribute to the continuous improvement of relevant procedures and policies.
Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in general maintenance tasks, coupled with strong communication and problem-solving skills. A solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and experience in coordinating contractors in a maintenance setting is essential. A reputation for responsiveness and efficiency in all maintenance activities, along with a positive attitude, is crucial for enhancing the customer experience.
