Leading Quantity Surveyor for Government Initiative

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for mentoring a team, managing client relationships, and overseeing Value for Money assessments.
About the RoleThis is an exceptional opportunity to utilize your expertise in quantity surveying, construction estimation, or a background in construction/engineering to make a significant impact on the project's success.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert advice to homeowners and builders on Home Assessment Reports, flood data, risks, hazards, resilient building strategies, and RHF application processes.
- Manage and oversee all Value for Money Assessments, including financial monitoring and timely reporting.
- Assist in developing and implementing frameworks and procedures to ensure efficient Value for Money delivery across the program.
- Proactively manage operational outcomes to ensure client satisfaction with targets, reporting, and budgets.
- Establish and maintain senior management relationships with client agencies and stakeholders to support program delivery improvements.
- Identify measures of continual improvement and output performance through value for money analysis.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure effective communication across the program.
- Mentor customer-facing staff to enhance their skills and performance.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in managing escalated customer inquiries and complaints.
- A high level of knowledge of building materials and their application.
- Proficient in mentoring and coaching.
The following qualifications would be highly desirable:
- Experience in Quantity Surveying or Construction Estimating.
- Ability to interpret plans and resilient building strategies.
- Experience working within the building industry (either in a trade-based, engineering, or design role).
The salary for this position is estimated to be between $76.50 - $81.69 per hour, plus superannuation benefits. As a member of our team, you can expect a dynamic and challenging work environment with opportunities for growth and professional development.
