Culturally Sensitive Suicide Prevention Specialist

About the Role
Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the position of Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker.
This role is a critical part of our organisation's commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assertive and timely follow-up care for individuals who have experienced a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis.
Working closely with our team, you will develop and deliver trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services that take into account the intersection of AOD, SEWB, and other complementary programs.
As a Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker, you will be resourced with strong training and ongoing support mechanisms, including clinical and cultural supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assertive and timely follow-up care for individuals who have experienced a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis
- Develop and deliver trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services
- Work closely with the team to integrate suicide prevention planning and response activity
- Participate in clinical and cultural supervision to ensure high-quality care
