About the Role

Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the position of Culture Care Connect Suicide Prevention Worker.

This role is a critical part of our organization's commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assertive and timely follow-up care for individuals who have experienced a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis.

They will work closely with our team to develop and deliver trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services that take into account the intersection of AOD, SEWB, and other complementary programs.

The Culture Care Connect program aims to address the significant impact of suicide and suicidal ideation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and is committed to working in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed way.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assertive and timely follow-up care for individuals who have experienced a suicide attempt or suicidal crisis
  • Work closely with the team to develop and deliver trauma-aware, healing-informed aftercare services
  • Collaborate with other programs and services to ensure a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention
