Senior Geotechnical Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced geotechnical engineer to join our team in Queensland. This role will be based in our Townsville office and offers the opportunity to work hybrid, balancing on-site and remote work.

  • Lead and oversee geotechnical aspects as part of a project team, ensuring best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scope and deliver geotechnical projects or components, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
About the Job

This is a critical role within our Geotechnical & Tunnels division, which is recognised for its expertise and commitment to best practice. As a senior geotechnical engineer, you will have the opportunity to solve diverse technical challenges and enjoy the resources and high-calibre colleagues of a major consultancy.

We value your skills and experience in geotechnical engineering, particularly in areas such as slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response. Your ability to design foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements will be essential to the success of this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and supervise site investigations, including borehole drilling, in-situ testing, sampling, and monitoring.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response.
  • Design foundations (shallow and deep), earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, design documents, and specifications.
  • Nurture client relationships, attend meetings, and provide geotechnical advice and presentations.
