Our Geotechnical team seeks a highly skilled Senior or Associate Geotechnical Engineer in Queensland. This role will be based in our newly opened Townsville office, offering the chance to work hybrid, with flexibility to work from home when not required on site or at a client's office.

The ideal candidate will be part of a team delivering geotechnical services, including site investigations, testing, foundation design, earthworks, and risk assessments. Strong technical expertise, clear communication, and teamwork are essential for success in this role. We offer a collaborative environment, recognised for expertise, spirit, and commitment to best practice.

Our Queensland Geotechnical team comprises over 70 professionals, supported by a national geophysics team in Brisbane. You'd join a skilled and welcoming group passionate about geotechnical excellence, client service, and growth. To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate:

  • Excellent teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or eligibility) is highly desirable.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design of foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures.
  • Experience in soft-soil investigation and design for conditions familiar to South-East Queensland is highly desirable.
  • Alternately, experience in rock investigation and logging for deep infrastructure in mining and hydro-power industries.
  • Awareness and some growing experience in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slope/W, Settle3D, LPILE, gINT, or equivalent).
  • Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
