Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing geotechnical aspects of projects, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee geotechnical aspects of projects.
  • Scope and deliver geotechnical projects or components, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, settlement, liquefaction assessment, and seismic response.
  • Design foundations, earth retaining structures, ground improvement solutions, and pavements.
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports, feasibility studies, design documents, and specifications.
  • Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Nurture client relationships, attend meetings, and provide geotechnical advice and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology, or a closely related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Chartered or Professional Engineer status (or eligibility) is highly desirable.
  • Approximately 5-10 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience, ideally in consulting, infrastructure, or construction projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in ground investigation, geotechnical analysis, and design of foundations, earthworks, and retaining structures.
  • Experience in soft-soil investigation and design for the conditions familiar to South-East Queensland are highly desirable.
  • Strong report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and teams.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
