About the Role

The Specialist Indigenous Support Liaison will play a critical role in delivering a positive employee experience for Indigenous employees at BHP. This includes providing personalized support and advice, advocating for Indigenous perspectives and cultural capability, and championing the application of the BHP Indigenous Cultural Safety Framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key point of contact for Indigenous employees, providing support and advice to improve their experience.
  • Advocate for Indigenous perspectives and cultural capability, ensuring that the voices and needs of Indigenous employees are heard and respected.
  • Champion the application of the BHP Indigenous Cultural Safety Framework, working to create a culturally safe and supportive environment for all employees.
  • Partner with Indigenous Engagement to facilitate engagement with Prescribed Bodies Corporate, Traditional Owner corporations, and local communities, where necessary.

Requirements

  • Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders, including diverse cultures and/or Indigenous peoples.
  • An understanding of and experience in the mining sector and BHP's operating environment is recommended but not mandatory.
  • Relevant vocational, TAFE or University qualifications (e.g. HR/ER, healthcare, community development) are recommended but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in case management, advocacy, community development or human services is recommended but not mandatory.

Location

This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in a beautiful region of NSW. Part-time or full-time options can be considered.
